What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy or hypnosis is a deeply relaxed, focused state, similar to daydreaming. In this hypnotic state, your brain waves naturally slow down, allowing access to the subconscious mind, where around 95% of our behaviours, habits, and emotional patterns reside. This relaxed state enhances neuroplasticity, meaning the brain is more receptive to change, making it easier to break old patterns and form new, healthier ones.

What is solution focused hypnotherapy?

Solution focused hypnotherapy involves positive talking therapy and it is an extremely empowering therapy.  Those seeking therapy are often motivated to move forward in their lives and solution focused hypnotherapy offers the opportunity to do just that.  Whilst we are happy to discuss and, importantly, acknowledge the past, we do not focus or delve into past traumas and/or problems.  Instead, we focus on your goals and preferred future, help you to understand what is happening in the brain during challenging or difficult times, and take positive steps to move forward from the issue that caused you to seek help.

Is hypnotherapy safe?

Yes — hypnotherapy is a safe and natural therapeutic approach that has been used for many years to support mental and emotional well-being.  Hypnosis is simply a state of deep relaxation and focused attention, similar to daydreaming. During this state, your mind becomes more open to positive suggestions that can help you make the changes you want.  When carried out by a trained and insured hypnotherapist, hypnotherapy is low risk and non-invasive.  Most people find it a deeply relaxing and calming experience.  I will always carry out an Initial Consultation to ask about any conditions you have to ensure the approach is right for you.

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

No - you are always in control and you can respond if you want to, and bring yourself out of the relaxed state at any time. It is not mind control or stage hypnosis. You cannot be made to do anything agaist your will.  Instead, it helps you tap into your subconscious mind to explore solutions and making positive changes.

What happens during the initial consultation?

This first meeting is a relaxed, informal session. I will explain what SFH is and what happens during a session. I will ask you questions to understand more about you and how I can help. I will explain a simple and empowering explanation of how the brain works in relation to stress, anxiety, habits and emotions. Many clients say this part alone helps them feel more in control and optimistic about change.

How many sessions will I need?

SFH is a brief type of therapy. Most clients usually have between 6 and 12 sessions, sometimes more depending on the individual. Hypnotherapy is highly effective, but as with all therapy, full client commitment is required for best results.

For the best outcome for you, I recommend that you have weekly sessions.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes. There is a Cancellation Policy in place to protect my small business. Any cancellations made within 48 hours of your appointment will incur 100% of the fee. With regards to block bookings, the session will be deducted from the total amount.
